Submissions and Editing
Wikoweedia (pronounced /*wi*ko*wii*di*a/, WEE-koo-WEE-dee-a) is a web-based, free-content marijuana encyclopedia project based on an open-editable concept. WikoWeedia articles provide links to guide the user to related pages with additional information.
Wikoweedia is written collaboratively by an international group of volunteers. Anyone with internet access can write and make changes to Wikoweedia articles. There are no requirements to provide one's real name when contributing; rather, each writer's privacy is protected unless they choose to reveal their identity themselves.
Visitors do not need specialized qualifications to contribute. Wikoweedia’s intent is to have articles that cover existing marijuana knowledge and create new knowledge. We do this so that people of cultural and social backgrounds can write Wikoweedia articles. Most of the articles can be edited by anyone with access to the Internet, simply by submitting content via the portals provided within Wikoweedia. Anyone is welcome to add information, cross-references, or citations, as long as they do so in the hopes to help educate the subculture and advancement of decriminalization and legalization of marijuana. Substandard or disputed information is subject to removal.
Because Wikoweedia is an ongoing work to which, in principle, anybody can contribute, it differs from a paper-based reference source in important ways. In particular, older articles tend to be more comprehensive and balanced, while newer articles more frequently contain significant misinformation, unencyclopedic content. Users need to be aware of this to obtain valid information and avoid misinformation that has been recently added. However, unlike a paper reference source, Wikoweedia is continually updated, with the creation or updating of articles on historic events within hours, rather than months or years for printed encyclopedias.
When submitting a Toke term or Article to Wikoweedia you are assured user anonymity. Any information received by staff will not be shared with WikoWeedia partners or affiliates. Wikoweedia will give editorial credit on all submissions, additions and edits if requested. Otherwise posted information will be tagged as anonymous.
For easy access submission boxes can be located in multiple areas of Wikoweedia: the “Home” page, “Article” page and the “Toke Term” page. Each box sends data to specific moderating staff. Submissions usually take 24 to 48 hours to post. Upon posting your submission you will receive a confirmation email will a link to view your post for your review.
It’s that simple!
